rediscovering old work
I’ve discovered through the creation of this site that while I have some very solid systems in place for managing my portrait work… I have about zero effective systems for keeping track of my art images… they’re scattered between computers and hard drives and some are lost forever…
As I load content into this site, I put a lot of thought into what makes sense, what is representative of my best work, and what might appeal to other people. My editing style has changed over the years, and while I try to keep my fine art images pretty true to life, I do like to have a touch of my edits on there. So for a lot of my older work, thought I still like the product, I’ve been interested in updating the editing. But this means FINDING all the old files. A nightmare. Also, educational. I am inspired to have a lot more awareness around my personal files and how I store them. It’s been really fun to revisit and re-edit some of these older files. There have been several enjoyable moments of pulling up old images I forgot existed…
When looking for art for your home, what are your influences? General color pallettes you love? Anything neutral? Landscape? Cityscape/architecture? Something more specific to your mood/vibe?
Don’t forget, art prints make a fantastic and easy gift for people in your life! Metals and canvas come ready to hang - I especially have lots of fun plant prints for the plant lover in your life.
take care,
