photo art

are you a person who has always had loads of prints up all around your house? I grew up that way, so it’s the norm for me. I have continued to have a love of tangible, printed pieces on visual display. of course, access for me is a little easier, since it’s my job as a photographer… but still…

I still have a great excitement about sitting down at the computer to filter through recent images, grab the handful I like best, and then send them off to the lab in assorted sizes and styles… and then when they show up at my door, figuring out where to best put them all around the house.

I probably have more simple 4x6 prints than anything else. I like to use the cheapo little snap frames from craft stores, or sale frames from thrifting… it doesn’t have to be fancy, it just has to work! I suppose it’s helpful that I also have a pretty eclectic design aesthetic, so I don’t need things to be overly matchy. regardless, it is so satisfying for me to have little reminders tucked all around my house that make me smile when I walk past them. I’m a big believer in printing your images.

I also like to use my fine art photos as desktop backgrounds- an oldie, but a goodie.

what’s your favorite way to remember or view photos you have taken of loved ones, or from vacation, or the 7k photos of your dog?

what are your favorite photo products? are you a calendar, mouse pad, or mug maker? classic prints? whatever is new and fun?
